Abstract in English:
Deprotonation of 2-amino-1,3-dimethylimidazolium iodide (I), obtained through methylation of 2-amino-1-methylimidazole, by KH gives 2-imino-1,3-dimethylimidazoline (II). The corresponding trimethylsilylimino compd. is formed on the reaction of II with Me3SiCl in the ratio 2:1. Further reaction with Me3SiCl gives a silylated aminoimidazolium salt. The x-ray structures of I and II are reported.
