Abstract:
We propose an accurate method to extract the equivalent circuit of the unit cell for a lossy composite right/left-handed (CRLH) transmission line [1]. The methodology uses both, full-wave simulation (3D-FDTD) and measured scattering parameters. The benefit of such robust unit cell extraction is the possibility to optimize these important building blocks for applications such as e.g. zeroth-order resonant antennas or leaky-wave antennas [2, 3].
