Abstract:

In this paper the design of fault detection (FD) system for networked control systems (NCS) is studied by taking network-induced delay, packet dropouts and quantization error into account. The proposed residual generator has network-state dependent parameters, and it is designed to match an reference residual model, such that the generated residuals are robust against system uncertainties and unknown inputs, and sensitive to faults. Then a new residual evaluation approach is proposed for NCS, where the upper bound of the false alarm rate (FAR) is guaranteed. All the results are given in terms of matrix inequalities (MIs). A numerical example is utilized to illustrate the results.
