A lab. expt., orientated secondary school student course in electrochem. is described, which commences with the introduction of the Volta column to illustrate the principles of galvanic cells, and is then followed by studies to illustrate the effect of metal-soln. combinations on current-voltage properties, the introduction of the concept of half-cell potentials, the derivatization of the Nernst equation from exptl. data, and principles of the Zn-I and H-O batteries.
