Abstract:

In this paper, the influence of sampling period on a class of optimal fault detection performance has been studied. The background of this study is the important role played by the sampling period in embedded networked control systems, where the sampling period has direct impact on network load, computational efforts and fault detection performance. It is shown that with the increase of the sampling period, the optimal H infinHinfinfault detection performance index will become worse. The main tool used for the analysis is the lifting technique and the introduction of an auxiliary system, which bridges systems with different sampling periods.
